Quando se diz histórico e singular - concordo totalmente com eles - é 100% autêntico e histórico - antigo e clássico como um museu, mas gostaria de dormir em um quarto de hotel do museu que foi de 100 anos, umm repensar o que você decidir aqui. Perto de US $ 100 por noite, até mesmo um Airbnb seria mais confortável. A cama com colchão de mola era estreita mas ok, o espaço do quarto é muito pequeno, reaproveitado lareira espaço, banheiro era minúsculo. Nenhum cabide ou armário para suas roupas, jogue-os na cadeira. A audição neste edifício antigo está desligada, então você fica congelado durante a noite. My wife and I stayed at the Old Chicago Inn about 7 years ago, but just for a quick overnight. I recall it being a decent place with a lot of charm. Unfortunately, on our trip this weekend we were sorely disappointed with our room. I'm afraid it does not deserve the high rating it has been given overall, and many of the good reviews appear to refer to the speakeasy below, not the hotel experience.
The place was in very sorry shape. Room 3D, which showed a nice "brushed metal four poster bed" on their website actually had a tacky, cheap, squeaky frame with a worn out mattress. In fact, just about everything in the room creaked and groaned. It was also easy to hear other guests blow their nose or use the toilet. The carpet was a dingy coarse and ripped gray thing that didn't help the overall appearance of the room. An unnecessary second dresser harumphed against the wall at the foot of the bed, taking up precious space in a tiny room. The moulding around the doors was lopsided, missing pieces, and tacked up with large brads that left holes that were never filled. Paint was poorly applied, and the darker color beneath shown through the streaky attempt. The shower handle fell off straight away since it was missing the screw to hold it on. The tile was moldy, and there was no fan to clear away the steam. Water dripped steadily from the ceiling directly onto the toilet, so there was no way to sit on it without getting dripped on from some unknowable source. The ceiling had been patched, poorly, in the past, so it was an ongoing issue, and the drip, drip, drip onto the toilet seat was audible while trying to fall asleep.
It's hard to call this a bed and breakfast since breakfast mainly consisted of a pan of cornbread, some mini cereal boxes, and mediocre coffee. Certainly not any better than the typical "continental" breakfast available at any ol' hotel.
I guess the price for the room comes from the fact that it's located in Chicago, and in a good part of town for dining and entertainment. Anywhere else I would expect to pay about $50 a night for quality such as this.
The inn-keeper was a nice guy, and we did get a parking pass that made things very convenient. We spent very little time in the room during the day, and had a wonderful visit to Chicago despite the accommodations here. If the place were to be spruced up, it could easily be worthwhile. Sadly, the shape it's in now means we'll rule it out for future trips.

Tivemos um grande fim de semana do dia do trabalho na pousada. Nosso quarto era tão aconchegante e a cama era confortável. Tínhamos nosso próprio banheiro (com chave); foi no final do corredor, mas roupões de banho estavam disponíveis, então nenhum problema. O café da manhã era apenas café, muffins e barras de granola devido ao COVID; adoraríamos voltar para ver um café da manhã de verdade! David foi um anfitrião maravilhoso; nós realmente apreciamos sua companhia. Excelente localização, com tantos restaurantes e Wrigley fica na estrada.

Tuvimos un gran fin de semana del día del trabajo en el Inn. Nuestra habitación era muy acogedora y la cama era cómoda. Teníamos nuestro propio baño (con llave); estaba al final del pasillo, pero había albornoces disponibles, así que no hubo problema. El desayuno era solo café, magdalenas y barras de granola debido a COVID; ¡Nos encantaría volver a ver disfrutar de un verdadero desayuno! David fue un anfitrión maravilloso; realmente disfrutamos de su compañía. Excelente ubicación con tantos restaurantes y Wrigley está justo al final de la calle.

We had a great labor day weekend at the Inn. Our room was so cozy and the bed was comfortable. We had our own bathroom (with key); it was down the hall but bathrobes were available so no issue. Breakfast was just coffee, muffins and granola bars due to COVID; we'd love to go back to see enjoy a real breakfast! David was a wonderful host; we truly enjoyed his company. Great location with so many restaurants and Wrigley is just up the road.

I wouldn't live there if I were you unless of course you like living in a museum with bees, creaky floors, and a toilet seat that you can barely fit in. When it says historic and quaint - I totally agree with them - it is 100% authentic and historic - old and classic like a museum but would you like sleeping in a museum hotel room that was 100 yrs old, umm rethink what you decide here. Close to $100 a night, even an Airbnb would be more comfortable. The bed with spring mattress was narrow but ok, the room space is really small, repurposed fireplace space, bathroom was tiny. No hangers or closet for your clothes, dump em on the chair. The hearing in this ancient building is off so you get frozen in the night. The person at the entrance/help desk was nice though. Not really much of any room service though. He gave us a keys to the room and the front entrance. It was like an Airbnb for a huge house, the stairs creeked when waked on. The lighting in the room was dim as well. I don't know what else to tell ya, visit this place but I won't recommend living here. The location is convenient though, close to a few nice food places where you can get deep dish pizza and the subway station is a walk away.

We were invited to a preview of Room 13. Walking in you can tell instantly that they have put a lot of thought into the place. The bar feels comfortable and cosy without being stuffy. They've kept the speakeasy vibe going without being kitschy. The bartender is friendly and very knowledgeable. Cocktails are the reason to be here though. Actually, the cocktails are reason enough to travel here from far away.
